This grant provides funding to local organizations in Franklin County to support community initiatives and educational programs that address local needs.

Description

The Franklin County Community Foundation (FCCF), a local affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), invites applications for its 2025 community grant cycle. Established in 1991, FCCF operates with the support of a local volunteer advisory board. The Foundation plays a central role in building and managing community endowments, supporting charitable initiatives, and addressing local needs through targeted grants.

Applications will be accepted from March 28 through noon Eastern Time on April 29, 2025. All applications must be submitted through NCCF’s online application platform. First-time applicants are required to follow the instructions in Training Module I to create a user profile, while returning users can log in using their existing credentials. The application process itself is detailed in Training Module II. Adherence to application guidelines is mandatory; incomplete or non-compliant applications will not be considered.

Grant funding is available from two primary sources: the general community grantmaking fund and the Franklin County Education Fund Endowment. Awards from the community fund typically range between $500 and $1,000, while the Education Fund offers grants between $1,000 and $2,000. In 2024, FCCF distributed $5,610 in total funding through this competitive process. Applications that support local educational initiatives may receive funding from the Education Endowment, which is specifically intended to strengthen education within Franklin County.

To help guide its decision-making, the FCCF advisory board relies on an annual community needs assessment. Applicants are encouraged to review this assessment to tailor their proposals to current community priorities. Final funding decisions are generally announced within two months of the application deadline.

Organizations seeking assistance or more information are encouraged to contact the relevant Program Officer or reach out to the main office of NCCF. General support is available at the Foundation’s headquarters located at 3737 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 460, Raleigh, NC 27612. Phone inquiries may be directed to 919-828-4387 or toll-free at 800-532-1349.
