Renewable Resource Planning Grants
This program provides financial and technical support to Montana local governments for developing essential planning documents that help manage and protect renewable resources.
Description
This program provides technical and financial assistance to local governments in Montana to apply for Renewable Resource Planning Grants. The assistance is intended for local governments that do not have an established relationship with a professional engineering firm or have not been successful in applying for DNRC planning grants in the prior biennium. DNRC will assign a contracted technical service provider to help these local governments prepare quality grant applications for projects aimed at conserving, managing, developing, or protecting Montana’s renewable resources. Technical assistance is limited to $3,000 or 20 hours at $150/hour, and these funds are intended to offset the costs of hiring professional or technical consultants to develop necessary reports or management tools.
Eligible applicants include cities, counties, political subdivisions, tribal governments, and state government divisions within Montana. Eligible projects include the preparation of Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER), Technical Narratives, Capital Improvement Plans, Growth Plans, and other management tools. The goal is to assist governmental entities in producing or updating documents that meet specific requirements for Montana Public Facility Projects or the RRGL Program.
