City of Knoxville

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Knoxville that promote arts, culture, and social services, enhancing community engagement and well-being.

Description

The City of Knoxville’s Community Agency Grants program provides funding to nonprofit organizations that align with the city's goals and priorities in two primary categories: Arts & Culture and Community and Social Services. Organizations that offer homeless services are directed to apply for the Homeless Grant through Housing and Neighborhood Development rather than this funding opportunity. Eligible applicants must have operated within the City of Knoxville for at least five years and be currently registered as a charitable organization with the Tennessee Secretary of State.

The grant aims to support nonprofit organizations that contribute to the cultural, social, and economic well-being of Knoxville residents. Funding is available for programs and services that enhance community engagement, social welfare, and access to the arts. The city emphasizes strategic alignment with its overall mission, ensuring that funds are directed toward organizations making a measurable impact on the local community.

Applications for the 2025 grant cycle will be available starting January 22, 2025, and must be submitted by February 21, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. All applications must be submitted through ZoomGrants, an online grant management platform. Training sessions on using ZoomGrants will be offered on January 24 at 10:00 a.m. and January 27 at 1:00 p.m., with additional online assistance available through ZoomGrants University. Interested applicants can contact Jennifer Searle for the training session link.

As part of the review process, all submitted applications may be subject to public inspection under the Tennessee Open Records Act. This transparency requirement ensures accountability in the allocation of public funds. Organizations are encouraged to thoroughly review their applications to ensure compliance with the eligibility criteria and funding priorities.

For further inquiries, applicants can contact Jennifer Searle at 865-215-2267 or via email at JSearle@KnoxvilleTN.gov. The City of Knoxville remains committed to supporting nonprofit organizations that foster community development and cultural enrichment.
