Description

The 2024 Act 13 Unconventional Gas Well Fund (UGWF) grant is designed to provide financial assistance to volunteer and career fire, emergency medical services (EMS), and rescue companies in counties where unconventional gas well drilling has been permitted. The goal of the grant is to help these organizations acquire specialized training, skills, and equipment necessary to respond effectively to gas well-related emergencies, thereby ensuring community safety. The application period for this grant is now open and will remain available until November 30, 2024, at 4 p.m. Eligible applicants include fire companies, rescue companies, and EMS located in the 40 counties with unconventional gas wells and the 11 counties that border them.
