Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grant Program
This program provides funding to arts, nature, and cultural organizations in Alachua County to support events and activities that attract tourists and enhance the area's cultural vibrancy.
Description
The Alachua County Commission is seeking applications for the Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grant Program. This program supports arts, nature, and cultural events and activities that occur between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. The goal is to enhance Alachua County as a culturally vibrant and interesting destination by using a portion of the Tourist Development Tax revenue to aid in the operations and promotions of events aimed at attracting tourists. Eligible applicants must be legally established arts, nature, or culture organizations operating within Alachua County. Applications must be submitted by August 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The total program funding available for this year is $1,600,000.
To ensure fair consideration, all questions regarding the application must be submitted in writing to info@visitgainesville.com by August 13, 2024. All questions and answers will be posted on the VisitGainesville.com website. The application process includes specific requirements for the use of awarded funds, including that at least 25% must be spent on out-of-county marketing. The program also outlines different funding levels based on the operating revenues of the applicant organizations.
