Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program

Description
The Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program, managed by the National Park Service, offers funding to organizations dedicated to preserving and interpreting historic sites where Japanese Americans were detained during World War II. With total program funding of $3 million, grants range from $5,000 to $500,000 and support projects that promote awareness, preservation, and educational activities at these sites.
Eligible applicants include state, local, and tribal governments; educational institutions; nonprofits; and other public entities. Projects must focus on one or more confinement sites, such as the ten War Relocation Authority sites (e.g., Manzanar, Tule Lake), or other historically significant locations. A matching funds requirement applies.
