Description
The West Side Community Fund (WSCF) is offering a grant for community initiatives in the Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Hell's Kitchen neighborhoods of Manhattan. The fund is administered by Hudson Guild, a community-based organization that partners with WSCF to support local services and initiatives. The fund's purpose is to provide financial assistance to local nonprofits, community groups, and individuals who deliver services in these areas. Previous grantees have included community health centers, tenants' associations, schools, food pantries, youth leadership programs, and social services for seniors, among others.
The eligibility requirements for applying to this grant specify that the applicant organization must be based in and provide services within the catchment area of Community Board 4, which encompasses Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Hell's Kitchen. Additionally, the organization’s total annual budget should not exceed $15 million. Grants will not support religious or partisan activities, nor programs that promote any form of discrimination, including based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. Individuals who deliver services, such as teachers, are also eligible to apply.
The total amount of funding available for individual grants is up to $10,000, and the funds must be used to support eligible services and programs in the designated neighborhoods. The application deadline for the Spring 2025 grant cycle is Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at midnight. Grantees will be announced in May 2025, and all funded projects must be completed by October 2025.
Applicants should be aware that once the application form is opened in a browser, it must be completed in full before submission.
