Breed Rescue Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating specific dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.
Description
The AKC Humane Fund offers a Breed Rescue Grant for not-for-profit canine rescue groups that provide rescue or rehabilitation services solely for dogs listed on the American Kennel Club's Complete Breed List. Eligible applicants include AKC Parent Clubs conducting breed rescue activities or organizations exempt from Federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, recommended in writing by an AKC Parent Club. The grant can be used to cover veterinary care, spaying and neutering, and vital supplies. However, it cannot be used for fundraising purposes or capital improvements.
To apply for the grant, applicants must submit a completed Grant Application form along with financial information about their organization, including audited financial statements, total current budget for the last completed fiscal year and the current fiscal year, and a list of principal sources of ongoing annual support. If applicable, a copy of the IRS Determination Letter confirming Section 501(c)(3) status should also be included. Applications can be submitted online through the provided link or via a paper version available as a PDF on their website.
