F25AS00188 Coastal Program FY25
This grant provides financial and technical support to conservation partners, including state and Tribal agencies and nonprofits, for projects that restore and protect coastal fish and wildlife habitats, focusing on priority species and ecosystems.
Description
The Coastal Program FY25 grant (Funding Opportunity Number: F25AS00188) from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service aims to provide technical and financial assistance to conservation partners for restoring and protecting fish and wildlife habitats in coastal ecosystems. This community-based program uses cooperative agreements with state and Tribal agencies, nonprofits, and other stakeholders. Projects must align with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s conservation goals, be science-based, and focus on priority species and habitats outlined in the program's strategic plan.
The grant supports activities that enhance species conservation, habitat connectivity, and ecosystem resilience. Emphasis is placed on federally listed species, interjurisdictional fish, pollinators, and other at-risk species. Projects should also contribute to the conservation of National Wildlife Refuges and other protected lands. However, the program does not fund land acquisition, compensatory mitigation projects, or activities generating mitigation credits.
The funding for FY25 totals $6,000,000, with an award ceiling of $500,000 and a floor of $1. No cost-sharing is required. Applications are accepted from state and local governments, Tribes, nonprofits, educational institutions, and private entities. Applicants must consult with a local Coastal Program office before submitting their application. Required registrations include SAM.gov and GrantSolutions. Simplified application procedures are available for smaller requests.
Applications must include standard federal forms (e.g., SF-424 series), a project narrative detailing goals, activities, and expected outcomes, and a budget narrative justifying costs. Additional information on indirect costs, conflict of interest, and overlap with other projects is also required. Applications are reviewed for eligibility, merit, and compliance with program priorities. Priority is given to cost-effective projects with long-term benefits, significant partner contributions, and those involving Tribes or benefiting Tribal communities.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from January 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, with a key deadline of May 30, 2025, for FY25 funding consideration. Projects selected for funding may begin as early as January 1, 2025, and must be completed by September 30, 2029. Awardees must comply with reporting and performance monitoring requirements as outlined in their Notice of Federal Award. Additional details and application materials can be accessed via the program’s website or local Coastal Program offices.
