Oklahoma Sheriff's Office Funding Assistance Grant Program
This program provides financial assistance to sheriff's offices in Oklahoma counties based on property valuation, helping them operate effectively without reducing existing funding.
Description
The Oklahoma Sheriff's Office Funding Assistance Grant Program supports professional law enforcement across Oklahoma by providing financial assistance to sheriff's offices in qualified counties. Administered by the Attorney General's Office, the program offers grants based on the county's gross assessed total tangible property valuation. Grant amounts are $150,000 for counties in the lower 26, $250,000 for counties ranked 27 to 52, and $300,000 for counties ranked 53 or higher. The funds must be used exclusively for the lawful operation of the sheriff's office and cannot be used for salary payments. The program ensures that existing funding is not reduced or supplanted due to grant awards. Applications are due by September 6, 2024.
