Yates Community Endowment Fund
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Yates County, focusing on innovative projects that address unmet community needs in areas like food insecurity, transportation, and housing.
Description
The Yates Community Endowment (YCE), managed by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, offers grants to support nonprofit organizations serving Yates County residents. These grants focus on addressing unmet needs, providing broad community benefits, and building on local strengths. Projects that are preventive, innovative, and sustainable are prioritized, with consideration given to remedial projects only if they incorporate innovative solutions.
Grants average $5,000, with one larger award available for a project addressing food insecurity, transportation, or housing challenges using innovative approaches. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or those sponsored by charitable nonprofits. Funds must directly benefit Yates County residents and cannot duplicate existing programs or services.
The application process begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI), due by Friday, January 24, 2025. LOIs should outline the project’s goals, community impact, and sustainability. The endowment may consider LOIs for general operating support. After reviewing LOIs, select organizations will be invited to submit a full application by Friday, March 7, 2025.
