Access to Justice Foundation Grant
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations and government entities in Arkansas that provide legal aid to low-income individuals and promote public understanding of civil legal processes to improve access to justice for underserved communities.
Description
The Arkansas Access to Justice Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for its 2025 funding cycle. This grant opportunity is aimed at organizations dedicated to expanding civil legal aid and enhancing the administration of justice in Arkansas. With a focus on improving access to justice for underserved populations, the program funds efforts that offer legal support and promote public understanding of civil legal processes.
The Foundation is offering funding in two primary categories. The first, Civil Legal Aid to the Poor, supports organizations that provide direct legal services to low-income individuals, develop self-help legal resources, or facilitate pro bono assistance through volunteer attorneys. The second, Administration of Justice, funds programs that assist individuals not eligible for traditional legal aid, educate the public about legal rights, encourage legal community engagement in meeting civil legal needs, or promote alternative dispute resolution solutions.
A total of $100,000 in grant funding is available, with awards of up to $50,000 per grantee. The final grant amounts may vary based on the number of applications received. Funding must not be used for lobbying activities and must be tracked according to standard grant compliance practices.
To be eligible, applicants must be either a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a government entity. Organizations must also be in good standing with the State of Arkansas and capable of tracking grant expenditures accurately. Only programs that directly benefit Arkansas communities and align with the foundation’s mission will be considered.
Applications must be submitted by April 22, 2025. The application form and submission instructions are available through the Arkansas Access to Justice Foundation and should be sent via email to abby@arkansasjustice.org.
For questions or further information, applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation directly.
