Description

The Gwen Ifill Mentorship Program for 2025, launched by the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), aims to address the underrepresentation of diverse leadership in U.S. newsrooms. The program offers a unique professional development opportunity for women and nonbinary journalists from underrepresented backgrounds by pairing them with experienced mentors in the media industry. Participants will engage in a wide range of topics, learning from media experts to enhance their skills and leadership potential.

The program runs for several months and focuses on empowering participants by building the groundwork for future success in leadership roles within journalism. It highlights the importance of mentorship, where leaders help elevate others, promoting diversity in newsroom leadership.

Applications are due by Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST. The IWMF encourages all women, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming journalists to apply, emphasizing that the program is inclusive of all gender identities beyond the traditional binary framework.

If applicants encounter any issues related to accessibility during the application process, they are encouraged to reach out to the IWMF at info@iwmf.org for support.
