Giving Circle of Women’s Connection Philadelphia Grant
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Philadelphia that focus on improving the lives of at-risk youth involved in or affected by the juvenile justice system.
Description
The Giving Circle of Women’s Connection Philadelphia, previously known as TTN Philadelphia Giving Circle, is a philanthropic initiative dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations that improve the lives of women and children in Philadelphia. This initiative operates under the Philadelphia Chapter of Women’s Connection, a national organization comprised of professional women aged 50 and older who seek ongoing engagement, leadership, and learning. Through pooled donations, the Giving Circle funds nonprofit organizations, provides educational programs, and advocates for increased awareness of pressing community needs. The organization emphasizes inclusion and aims to support nonprofits that align with its mission.
For 2025, the Giving Circle has identified Juvenile Justice as its primary focus area. Eligible nonprofits must serve youth between the ages of 10 and 18, with missions or programs addressing all stages of interaction with the juvenile justice system, including prevention and reform efforts. Additionally, advocacy groups working to improve juvenile justice policies in Philadelphia are encouraged to apply. The initiative seeks to support organizations actively engaged in transforming the juvenile justice landscape and offering support to at-risk youth.
To qualify for funding, organizations must primarily serve Philadelphia youth, hold 501(c)(3) public charity status or have fiscal sponsorship for at least two years, maintain an operating budget of $2 million or less for the most recent fiscal year, and not have received a grant from the Giving Circle in the past three funding cycles. Additionally, organizations promoting specific religious or political ideologies are ineligible. The grant prioritizes nonprofits that align with the Giving Circle’s mission and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive community support.
The 2025 grant application deadline is February 14, 2025. Finalists will be required to present their proposals to Giving Circle voting donors on May 20, 2025. Three grants of at least $20,000 each will be awarded as General Operating Support to selected organizations. These unrestricted funds allow grantees to allocate funding where it is most needed within their operations.
Organizations that receive funding must submit a grant report one year after receiving the award. Reports should be submitted via email to gc.grants.phl@womenconnecting.org. Additionally, applicants can attend a grant information session for further guidance on the application process.
