Description
The City of Knoxville’s Event Funding Grant, part of the Empower Knox Initiative, provides financial support for community events that foster positive social connections among youth aged 12-24. Recognizing the importance of youth engagement in improving academic performance and social-emotional well-being, the program offers grants of $500 to $1,500 for events held between January 1 and September 15, 2025. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis beginning December 5, 2024, and close on May 1, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
Eligible events must focus on direct youth engagement and are not intended for fundraising or sponsorship purposes. Applications are reviewed competitively, and funding is not guaranteed, even for previous recipients. Successful proposals will demonstrate a clear purpose in connecting young people with peers and trusted adults through meaningful community participation.
Applicants must adhere to the guidelines and ensure their events align with the initiative’s goals. For assistance or clarification, potential applicants can contact Emily Norris or Tiffany Davidson via the provided phone numbers or email addresses. This grant offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen youth engagement and enhance community connections in Knoxville.
