Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Grant
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in the metro Atlanta area, particularly those led by or serving BIPOC communities, to enhance public access and engagement with the arts.

The 2025 Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Grant, administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, supports independent, nonprofit arts and cultural organizations across the metro Atlanta area. This grant program is designed to strengthen organizations with annual operating budgets ranging from $25,000 to $2 million, with a primary mission of creating, presenting, or producing arts and cultural programming. The Foundation strongly encourages applications from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-led and serving organizations, especially those historically excluded from funding.
The grant offers two distinct funding opportunities for 2025: general operating support grants of $7,500 for first-time grantees and $5,000 for returning grantees, and separate $5,000 grants to help cover direct rental costs for performing arts presentations. These one-year grants aim to increase public access and community engagement with the arts throughout the 11-county metro Atlanta region, including Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale counties.
To be eligible, organizations must demonstrate that more than 70% of their activities and programming are arts-related, have at least eight months of programming annually, and operate primarily within the metro Atlanta region. Applicants must either be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or have a qualified fiscal sponsor. Ineligible applicants include government units, national/statewide organizations headquartered outside the region, schools, individuals, and groups without arts as their primary mission.
The 2025 application timeline includes an orientation on April 9 and office hours on April 30. Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. ET on May 16, 2025. Full and condensed applications are available, with the latter reserved for organizations that have previously received five or more Metropolitan Atlanta Arts grants. Applications are reviewed for eligibility, ranked by prior funding, and evaluated by external reviewers using a detailed scoring framework based on community benefit (45%), artistic/cultural vibrancy (35%), and organizational capacity (20%).
Grant recipients must expend funds during the grant period of August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2026. Restrictions include using funds for political, religious, academic credit-bearing programs, or individual scholarships. Awardees must sign a grant agreement, participate in Foundation visibility efforts, and submit a final report within 30 days of the grant period ending.
