This program provides funding to support businesses and organizations involved in processing, storing, and distributing locally produced food in Michigan, helping to strengthen the state's food supply chain.

Description

The Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Program, offered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) in partnership with the USDA, aims to enhance the capacity for processing, aggregating, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distributing locally and regionally produced food products. The program includes Infrastructure Grants (up to $475,000) and Equipment Only Grants ($10,000 to $100,000) to support the middle-of-the-supply-chain infrastructure, excluding meat and poultry. The goal is to support competitive and profitable market access for domestic farm products, creating new revenue streams for Michigan producers and increasing market diversity.
