KidsGardening’s Youth Garden Grant 2025
This grant provides $500 to school and youth garden programs in the U.S. that serve at least 15 young people, with a focus on those in under-resourced communities, to help start or improve their gardening initiatives.
Description
The 2025 Youth Garden Grant, offered by KidsGardening, provides $500 awards to 50 school or youth educational garden programs that enhance the quality of life for youth and their communities. Eligible programs must serve at least 15 youth ages 0-18 and aim to start or improve an existing garden. Applications are open to organizations in the U.S. and U.S. Territories, with a submission deadline of December 13, 2024, at 11:59 PM PT.
Priority is given to programs serving under-resourced communities systematically denied resources or opportunities based on socioeconomic or demographic factors. KidsGardening also considers financial need and the program's potential impact, prioritizing those serving over 50 youth. Organizations that received less than $10,000 in garden-related grants during 2023 and 2024 combined and have not received grants from KidsGardening during the same period are eligible.
In addition to the general $500 award, selected programs may receive specialized awards, including:
Bluestone Perennials School Garden Award: $500 grant for 15 programs.
Crescent Garden Container Gardening Award: $500 grant plus a $1,775 container gardening package for 5 programs.
Garden Champions Award: $500 grant for 30 programs, sponsored by various partners.
Applications must be submitted online using the streamlined Common Application form, which can also be used for future grants like the GroMoreGood Grassroots Grant (opening January 2025). Applicants are advised to draft answers in a separate document to avoid potential browser timeouts.
Resources for preparing applications are available in English and Spanish. Detailed instructions and application forms can be accessed on the KidsGardening website. This grant is an excellent opportunity to expand educational and community impact through gardening initiatives.
