This funding opportunity supports collaborative arts projects in Stark County, Ohio, aimed at addressing community challenges and enhancing wellbeing through partnerships between nonprofit organizations and other entities.
Description
The ArtsImpact FY26 Grant is a project-based funding opportunity offered by ArtsinStark to support collaborative initiatives in Stark County, Ohio. Entering its second year, this grant stream aims to foster cross-sector partnerships that leverage the arts to address community challenges and promote overall wellbeing. Projects must align with at least one of ArtsinStark’s strategic priorities: Arts & Education, Arts & Health, Arts & Economic Development, and Arts & Tourism. These strategic areas reflect the organization’s mission to create a thriving and vibrant regional community through meaningful arts engagement.
Eligible projects must be collaborations between at least one nonprofit organization and another partner, which may include individual artists, unincorporated groups, or commercial ventures. However, only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with a principal office in Stark County can serve as the lead applicant and receive the funding. Lead organizations must also be in compliance with civil rights laws and have submitted all required reports from any past ArtsinStark grants. Projects must occur within Stark County between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, and should demonstrate a shared impact on the constituencies of all collaborating partners.
The grant awards will range from $2,500 to $7,500. Funding may be used for any project-related expenses, including up to 20% for administrative costs, although artist fees must be listed separately. All projects must clearly support one of three designated impact areas. Under "Arts and Education," eligible programs include in-school residencies, out-of-school initiatives, and professional development for educators. "Arts and Wellbeing" projects might involve partnerships with healthcare providers, creative aging programs, mental health support, or services for individuals in the foster care or justice systems. "Regional Vitality Through the Arts" includes tourism-driven programs, revitalization efforts, or projects supporting artist employment.
The application process is managed via SurveyMonkey Apply. Applications open April 1, 2025, and close May 15, 2025. Applicants must upload financial documents and provide narrative responses on the project's value, partner collaboration, community engagement, strategic alignment, and expected outcomes. Applications are reviewed by a panel of vetted community and arts leaders, who score proposals on four weighted criteria: Impact on Stark County (30%), Alignment with Strategic Priorities (30%), Accountability (30%), and Clarity of Proposal (10%).
Grants are disbursed in two installments: 80% upon signing the grant agreement and submission of insurance documentation, and 20% following approval of a final report. Grantees must publicly acknowledge ArtsinStark support and submit a final report upon project completion. Previously funded projects may reapply if they demonstrate continued need and impact. ArtsinStark will also host one virtual and two in-person information sessions between April 8–11, 2025. Applicants can register at artsinstark.com/grants.
