Heart of Cook Mini-Grants
This program provides funding for small community projects focused on education, human services, and environmental initiatives in Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana.
Description
The Heart of Cook Mini-Grants program provides funding for small projects requesting between $100 and $500. This competitive grant program, initiated by the DC Cook Nuclear Plant in 2003, aims to give back to the community while involving employees in the process. The Berrien Community Foundation administers the program, targeting educational, human services, and environmental nonprofit projects in Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana, specifically in La Porte, St. Joseph, and Elkhart counties. Organizations can apply for only one grant per year and those that have received funding for three consecutive years are ineligible to apply for one year. High school robotics teams are not eligible.
