Impact Alamance Progress and Enhancement Fund

This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations in Alamance County to improve healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for residents, with a focus on purchasing essential equipment.

The Progress and Enhancement Fund is a one-time, competitive grant opportunity offered to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in Alamance County. The grant aims to address priorities outlined in the 2022 Community Health Assessment for Alamance County. The purpose of the grant is to improve access to healthcare, education, or economic opportunities for residents of Alamance County. The funding provides grants of up to $50,000, with a specific focus on addressing supply and equipment needs within eligible organizations.

Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) non-profits located within Alamance County and serving the residents of the county. To qualify, the organization must have held its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status for at least two years and must demonstrate the capacity to manage grant funds. A key condition of the funding is that the money may only be used for equipment purchases, which must be used regularly (at least weekly). Organizations that have previously received funding for a vehicle are excluded from applying for additional vehicle funding. Furthermore, organizations that were awarded funds from the Progress & Enhancement Fund in 2024 are ineligible to apply until 2026. The grant prioritizes applications from organizations that serve marginalized communities within Alamance County.

Ineligible applicants include organizations unable to provide a W9 or IRS letter confirming their 501(c)(3) status, those with a grant request exceeding their total assets, for-profit entities, public and private schools, youth sports teams, and organizations that engage in discriminatory practices. Additionally, the fund does not support individual grants, political causes, or grants for operational costs, staff salaries, or ongoing programs.

The application process is comprised of several steps, including a mandatory Letter of Intent (LOI) submission. Applicants will need to provide basic organizational details, a brief description of their proposed project, and an estimated dollar amount they seek for funding. The LOI deadline is March 3, 2025, by 5:00 pm. In advance of this deadline, Zoom Information Sessions will be held on February 11 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and February 12 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm for potential applicants to ask questions and receive guidance on the application process.

To submit the LOI and for specific inquiries, applicants are encouraged to contact Marcy Green, VP of Programs, via phone (336-261-8179) or email (Marcy.Green@conehealth.com).
