The H2O PA Flood Control Program, established under the Act of July 9, 2008, aims to provide financial assistance for flood control projects in Pennsylvania. Eligible applicants include the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, independent agencies, municipalities, and municipal authorities. The program supports the construction, improvement, repair, or rehabilitation of flood control systems, such as levees, floodwalls, and detention dams. Grants can be awarded for projects with a total cost of $500,000 or more, up to a maximum of $20,000,000. Applicants are required to provide necessary easements, rights-of-way, and maintenance of the completed project. The program emphasizes cost-effectiveness and compliance with federal, state, and local planning and permit requirements.
