The U.S. Embassy Prague Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) is accepting applications for its Annual Program Statement (PAS-001-FY2025) to strengthen U.S.-Czech relations by fostering social, political, and cultural ties. Funding is intended for projects that integrate American cultural or policy elements and promote understanding of U.S. perspectives. Applications are due by January 15, 2025, for the first round and May 15, 2025, for the second round. The program anticipates funding up to 20 projects with awards ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, pending available funding.

Eligible projects must target audiences in Czechia, with priority given to those outside Prague and projects engaging young adults or adults. Proposals should align with at least one of five priority program areas: U.S.-Czech bilateral relations, economic prosperity and innovation, human rights and democratic values, independent media, and security. Examples of eligible activities include professional workshops by U.S. experts, cultural exchanges, and initiatives countering disinformation. Ineligible activities include partisan political programs, humanitarian aid, construction, or projects without a U.S. connection.

Eligible applicants include not-for-profits, educational institutions, Czech governmental organizations, and individuals with connections to Czechia. While cost-sharing is welcome, it is not required. All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and be registered in SAM.gov, though individuals are exempt from this requirement.

Applications must include completed forms such as the SF-424 series, a nine-page proposal outlining objectives, activities, timeline, budget narrative, and evaluation plans. Supporting documents include CVs of key personnel, letters of support, and, if applicable, evidence of negotiated indirect cost rate agreements. All proposals must be submitted via email to grantsprague@state.gov.

Proposals will be evaluated based on quality, inclusion of an American component, organizational capacity, planning, budget realism, and support for underserved communities. An emphasis on equity and outreach to underrepresented groups is encouraged. Grant monitoring, reporting requirements, and compliance with federal regulations are detailed in the award conditions.

An information session will be held on December 2, 2024, at the American Center Prague. Interested applicants are advised to attend for guidance on the application process.
