Description

The FY25 Resilient Maryland Program aims to provide funding for preconstruction planning of resilient energy systems such as Microgrids, Resiliency Hubs, and Resilient Facility Power Systems. This funding opportunity is designed to assist Maryland-based organizations, including communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure, in performing feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, financial analysis, and other preparatory activities for energy projects aimed at improving resilience and sustainability.

Key Program Information:
Grant Type: Competitive, statewide
Total Funding Available: $500,000, though this may vary based on the number and quality of applications.
Application Deadline: November 15, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. ET
Grant Limits:
Microgrid Projects: Up to $125,000
Resiliency Hub Projects: Up to $12,000 per hub, with a maximum of 10 hubs per project
Resilient Facility Power Systems: Up to $50,000
Eligible Applicants:
Maryland communities, businesses, critical infrastructure organizations, nonprofits, and sole proprietorships registered in good standing with the State of Maryland. Individual residents are not eligible.
Eligible Activities:
Funding can only be used for preconstruction planning deliverables, including:

Feasibility Analysis
Preliminary Engineering & Project Design
Project Financial Proforma
Greenhouse Gas Impact Analysis
Implementation Barriers Analysis
Cost Match:
Applicants must provide a cost match of at least 20% of the total project cost, which can include cash, in-kind contributions, or third-party financing.

Evaluation Criteria:
Applications will be evaluated on the following:

Quality and diligence of the proposed concept
Potential energy equity benefits, especially for low-to-moderate income communities
Projected greenhouse gas reductions
Resilience benefits
Creativity and scalability of the proposed solution
