Community Grants
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations and healthcare facilities in creating or expanding programs that improve the health and well-being of individuals living with Parkinson's disease, particularly focusing on mental health, care partners, and exercise initiatives.
Description
The Parkinson’s Foundation offers community grants to support programs that enhance the health, wellness, and education of individuals living with Parkinson's disease (PD) across the United States. Over the past three years, the Foundation has awarded over $4 million to programs in 40 states, and since 2011, it has invested more than $11.5 million in 879 community-based initiatives. These grants aim to foster impactful, sustainable, scalable, and measurable programs that align with the Foundation’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Programs eligible for the 2025 grant cycle must focus on expanding or creating access for populations of focus and align with at least one of these key areas: addressing the intersection of mental health and PD, supporting care partners of those with PD, or providing exercise programs specifically designed for PD patients. Both new and existing programs, including pilot projects, are eligible for funding.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, healthcare facilities, and for-profit organizations offering programs at no cost. However, the grants do not cover expenses such as staff salaries, capital expenses, exercise equipment, indirect costs, travel, training or licensing fees, endowments, individual support, or franchise fees.
Applications are submitted electronically via ProposalCentral, where interested organizations must create an account to apply for the “Community Grant.” For further information about what grant funding covers, applicants can consult the FAQ section or contact the Foundation at Programs@Parkinson.org.
