Description
The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Built Environment Grants support infrastructure projects aimed at promoting physical activity and nutrition within Oklahoma communities. These grants are open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public entities, tribal nations, and educational institutions. Eligible projects include planning and development of parks and trail systems, enhancements to community fitness centers, ADA-compliant sidewalks and playgrounds, and similar initiatives that align with TSET’s constitutional focus areas.
To qualify, applicants must not receive funding from or benefit from the sale of tobacco products. Eligible entities must have a physical office within Oklahoma and provide services to residents of the state. Additional requirements include adopting tobacco-free and worksite wellness policies and maintaining good standing with the Oklahoma Secretary of State. If multiple partners are involved, one organization must serve as the primary contractor and fiscal agent.
The grant timeline begins with the funding opportunity launch on November 19, 2024. Questions about the RFA must be submitted by December 20, 2024, with applications due by February 12, 2025. Award decisions will be made by May 2025, and recipients will be notified later that month. Projects are expected to start on August 1, 2025.
