Program Support Grants to Address Food and Needs Insecurity

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Northeast Florida that help residents facing food and basic needs insecurity, as well as those offering specialized services for individuals with disabilities.

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is offering Program Support Grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents experiencing food and basic needs insecurity, as well as organizations providing support services for people with disabilities. These grants are designed to assist agencies in delivering essential resources such as food, clothing, and other necessities to underserved populations within Northeast Florida. The program also supports nonprofit agencies that provide specialized services for individuals with disabilities.

The grant awards range from $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the applicant’s annual operating budget. Organizations with an operating budget between $100,000 and $250,000 are eligible for grants of up to $10,000, while those with an annual operating budget exceeding $250,000 may request up to $20,000. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with an active 501(c)(3) status and at least two years of operational history.

The geographic scope of the grant is limited to nonprofit organizations serving residents in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties in Florida. Organizations seeking funding for projects in Putnam County are encouraged to apply under a separate funding opportunity. The grant specifically excludes applications from athletic associations, fundraising event sponsorships, programs promoting religious beliefs, and school-based organizations, including PTAs and booster clubs. However, faith-based organizations may apply if their programs serve the broader community without promoting religious beliefs.

The application process opens on January 2, 2025, and will close on March 6, 2025, at 11:59 PM. The foundation provides assistance to applicants from January 6, 2025, through March 1, 2025, through in-person, virtual, or phone consultations. Interested applicants can request an appointment during this period. Grant recipients will be notified by June 1, 2025, and all grant-funded projects must be completed between June 1, 2025, and May 30, 2026.

Applicants can direct their inquiries to Reagan Bass, MPA, the Program Officer for the grant, at rbass@jaxcf.org or by phone at 904-356-4483.
