Kitty Fund Mompreneur Business Grant
This funding initiative provides $25,000 in micro-grants to support mother-owned businesses in the U.S. that create jobs and contribute to their communities.
Description
The Kitty Fund Mompreneur Business Grant is a national funding initiative by Founders First CDC designed to support mother-owned businesses in the United States. The program was established in honor of Mother’s Day and in memory of Catherine “Kitty” Abrams Tadlock Webster, the mother of Founders First CEO Kim Folsom. Since its inception, the grant has aimed to recognize and uplift mompreneurs who lead small businesses and create jobs in their communities.
This grant provides $25,000 in micro-grants, distributed as $1,000 awards to 25 recipients. The funding is unrestricted, allowing recipients to apply the funds in the way that best supports their businesses, such as accessing professional services, preparing for additional funding, or general business operations. In addition to financial support, recipients also gain access to a network of like-minded entrepreneurs and exclusive resources, including webinars offered by Founders First.
Eligibility is specifically targeted toward mother-identifying business owners who serve in a leadership role such as CEO, President, or Owner of their business. Applicants must operate a U.S.-based business with between 2 to 100 employees, have been in business for at least one year, and generate annual revenue not exceeding $5 million.
The grant application process involves a pre-registration phase, followed by a full application opening on March 18, 2025. The full application includes detailed business information and a short pitch video. Semi-finalists will be selected from completed applications and invited to a final judging round. The 25 grant recipients will be publicly announced during a live press event.
