Goodhue County Opioid Settlement Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support for community-based projects in Goodhue County that aim to prevent opioid misuse and promote healthy lifestyles.
Description
The Goodhue County Opioid Settlement Grant aims to distribute up to $200,000 in funds from the county's opioid settlement to support community-based projects addressing the opioid crisis. The funding is intended for initiatives that promote safe and healthy lifestyles, with a focus on preventing opioid misuse and overdose. Grants are one-year awards for projects beginning in 2025, and there are no minimum or maximum funding limits per request. Successful projects may be considered for future funding opportunities as the county will continue to receive opioid settlement funds for 18 years.
Eligible applicants include a range of entities such as nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies, treatment centers, churches, and for-profit organizations serving Goodhue County communities. Projects must either introduce new services or expand existing ones, and the funding cannot be used to replace current funding for ongoing services. All applications must address one or more of OSAC's investment priorities, which include hiring Certified Peer Recovery Specialists, increasing mental health treatment for youth, expanding youth prevention programs, or providing harm reduction education and resources.
Applications are due by November 15, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., with late submissions not being accepted. Applicants must also present their projects to the Opioid Settlement Advisory Council on November 22, 2024. The council will evaluate proposals based on alignment with OSAC's vision, project feasibility, potential for lasting impact, and clarity of the budget and work plan.
Grant recipients must adhere to state compliance and reporting requirements, including submitting an annual report on project outcomes. This funding opportunity is ideal for organizations aiming to make a sustainable impact on opioid misuse prevention and recovery support in Goodhue County.
