George W. P. Magee Memorial Trust
This funding opportunity supports Boy Scout Councils in Massachusetts for significant capital improvements to summer and training camps, focusing on projects that enhance usability, reduce maintenance costs, or address urgent needs.
Description
The George W. P. Magee Memorial Trust provides funding to Boy Scout Councils in Massachusetts for major capital projects aimed at improving or maintaining summer and training camps. Eligible projects include those that enhance the usability, reduce maintenance costs, or are of an emergency nature. Applications must include an architect’s rendering and three estimates. Funding decisions are based on the merits of the submitted proposals, with priority given to projects that demonstrate an ability to improve facility use, maintain the facility once completed, and collaborate with neighboring councils or camps.
The trust distributes its net income to the councils performing the most efficient service, as determined by the trustees. New requests are not considered if previous grants are incomplete unless extenuating circumstances exist. The application deadline is September 15 each year.
