Ceiling: $5,000
Private
Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan (CFNEM)

This funding opportunity supports non-profit organizations, schools, and government agencies in Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, or Presque Isle County for innovative projects that benefit the community.

Description

The Community Impact Grant aims to support non-profit organizations serving the geographic area of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, or Presque Isle County. Eligible applicants include non-profit charitable organizations recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, schools, and government agencies. Religious organizations are also eligible if they serve the general public without sectarian overtones. The grants are intended for future projects, not for routine operating needs or budget deficits. Priority is given to new, dynamic projects with additional funding support from other organizations.
Grant applications are reviewed twice a year, with deadlines on January 15 and July 15. The maximum grant amount per application cycle is $5,000. Board approval is typically within six weeks of the deadline, and funds are disbursed within two weeks of approval. A Grant Screening Committee, comprising CFNEM board members, makes allocation recommendations, which are then approved by the Board of Trustees.
