This funding opportunity supports organizations conducting research to improve the use of evidence in decision-making that benefits young people aged 5-25 in the United States.
Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering Research Grants on Improving the Use of Research Evidence, supporting studies focused on enhancing the use, usefulness, and impact of research evidence to benefit young people ages 5-25 in the United States. The grant amounts range from $500,000 to $1 million over three years, with a deadline of August 7, 2024. Eligible projects must aim to improve the use of existing research evidence, facilitate the production of new research that meets decision-makers’ needs, or test whether improved use of research evidence enhances decision-making and youth outcomes. Grants are awarded to tax-exempt organizations, with encouragement for proposals from under-represented institutions such as Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges. Principal Investigators should have the necessary experience and skills, with a focus on diversity in leadership. Only studies directly aligned with the program's research interests and related to outcomes for young people are eligible. Non-research activities and general operational costs are not supported.
