Description
The City of Westfield is launching the Neighborhood Vibrancy Grant (NVG) program, designed to encourage and support unique and innovative ideas that enhance the quality of life and make the community more vibrant. The program targets projects that have a positive impact on Westfield and aims to create a more enjoyable living environment. The NVG program provides funding to homeowners' associations (HOAs) and neighborhood groups within the city limits of Westfield, Indiana, to support their community projects.
This grant operates on a 2-to-1 matching basis, where applicants must provide two-thirds of the project funding, while the grant covers one-third, up to a maximum of $10,000 per project. The program is structured to provide funding twice a year. The first round of applications will open on January 1 and close on March 1, with the awards announced on April 1, 2025. If funds remain after the first round, a second application period will take place from May 1 to July 1, with awards announced on August 1, 2025. The grants are intended to support projects that benefit the community within the specified deadlines.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, allowing applicants to submit their proposals at any time throughout the year until the deadlines are reached. The program is open to a wide range of neighborhood-based initiatives and encourages collaborative efforts among local residents, organizations, and community groups.
For those seeking guidance or expertise on projects, the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) offers free technical assistance for conservation-related initiatives such as rain gardens, tree planting, urban agriculture, and erosion control. This resource is available to neighborhoods, HOAs, churches, and private landowners involved in related environmental projects. For more information, applicants are encouraged to contact SWCD at 317.773.2181 or via email at soil.water@hamiltoncounty.in.gov.
