City of South Euclid Storefront Renovation Grants
This program provides matching funds to commercial property owners in South Euclid for significant exterior renovations that improve the visual appeal of their buildings.
Description
The City of South Euclid, in collaboration with One South Euclid, is offering the 2025 Storefront Renovation Grant Program to support substantial exterior improvements for commercial properties. The program provides matching grants of up to $50,000 to eligible property owners undertaking visible and impactful renovations that enhance the curb appeal of their buildings. The program aims to revitalize commercial areas in South Euclid through attractive and transformative upgrades to building exteriors.
To be eligible, applicants must be the property owners of commercial buildings located in South Euclid. Proposed renovations must be street-visible and focused on improving the building’s appearance. The grant operates on a 1:1 matching basis, requiring property owners to contribute an amount equal to the grant request. For example, a $100,000 renovation project would qualify for a $50,000 grant with the property owner providing the remaining $50,000. In select cases involving significantly impactful projects, the grant committee reserves the right to award more than the standard $50,000 cap.
Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by mid-April 2025. Once selected, the property owner must begin the city's project approval process within four months of signing the grant agreement. All renovations must be fully completed by August 1, 2026. Funds will be disbursed directly to the contractor following successful project completion, which includes passing all required building inspections and obtaining city approvals.
Before beginning any work, the project must receive all necessary approvals from the City of South Euclid, including review and clearance by the appropriate departments. City staff will assist grantees through the approval and inspection process to ensure compliance with program terms.
