Guy I. Bromley Trust Grant
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that improve education, health, arts, and community services for residents in Atchison, Kansas, and the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Description
The Guy I. Bromley Trust was established in 1964 with a philanthropic mission to enhance the quality of life for residents in specific regions through support for educational, cultural, human services, and health care programs. The trust is managed by Bank of America Private Bank’s Missouri Philanthropic Solutions office, which administers numerous foundations and charitable trusts on behalf of donors. This trust specifically supports nonprofit organizations that benefit residents of Atchison, Kansas, and the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Grants provided by the Guy I. Bromley Trust are for a duration of one year and are available for both general operating support and program-specific initiatives. However, requests for capital support, such as buildings or major equipment, are not considered. Grants are intended to support efforts in arts, culture, and humanities; education; health; human services; and community improvement and capacity building. Funding is typically distributed through a competitive proposal process designed to align the Trust’s resources with meaningful and effective charitable programs that demonstrate strong community impact.
Applications must be submitted online no later than May 31 by 11:59 p.m. Central Time. There are no deadline extensions, even if the date falls on a weekend or holiday. Grant decisions are communicated by the end of September. All applications must clearly align with the geographic and programmatic criteria of the Trust. Nonprofit organizations are generally permitted to submit one application per calendar year for a given geographic region. Exceptions exist for organizations that apply to the Guy I. Bromley Trust and also wish to support a distinct geographic area through another foundation managed by the same office.
Applicants are encouraged to conduct thorough research on the Trust’s specific funding priorities using the Bank of America grantmaking website, which includes a “Find a Foundation” search tool. Applications must be completed using the designated online system, and assistance is available only during standard business hours. Technical support is not available on weekends, and applicants are advised to initiate the process early to ensure timely completion.
Post-award, all grantees are required to submit a progress report within one year of receiving the grant. This report must outline the outcomes, financial details, and future funding plans for the supported project. Failure to submit the report will render the organization ineligible for future funding. Bromley Trust is Tony Twyman, who serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Philanthropic Client Manager at Bank of America, and he may be reached at tony.twyman@bofa.com or 816-292-4342.
