Description

The Cary Cultural Arts Grant Program provides financial assistance to support cultural arts nonprofit organizations within the Town of Cary. This funding initiative is part of the town's Policy for Support and Sponsorship of Cultural Groups and Activities. For Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26), a total of $191,000 has been allocated for distribution to eligible organizations that contribute to the cultural enrichment of the Cary community. The program aims to foster a vibrant arts scene by supporting initiatives that enhance public engagement in the arts and promote creative endeavors.

The primary objective of the grant is to support local nonprofit organizations that contribute to the cultural landscape of Cary. Funds may be used for projects, programs, and operational expenses that align with the town’s cultural arts objectives. Grant recipients are expected to enhance the town’s cultural offerings through performances, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and community engagement programs.

To be considered for funding, applicants must attend one of two mandatory virtual Cultural Arts Funding Information Sessions. These sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., and Thursday, January 23, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Organizations must register for these sessions by noon on Monday, January 20. Attendance at one of these sessions is a prerequisite for eligibility to apply for funding.

The application period for FY26 funding opens on January 14, with a submission deadline of February 28 at 11:59 p.m. Applications must be submitted through the Cary Grant Portal to be considered. Following the submission period, the Cultural Arts Committee will review applications and make funding recommendations in April. Grant applicants will be notified of funding decisions in June, and funds will be available to recipients in early July.

In addition to the FY26 funding process, current FY25 grant recipients must submit their grant report form by August 1. First-time applicants are strongly encouraged to contact William Lewis, Cultural Arts Manager, for initial guidance. For assistance with completing the application, applicants can reach out to Robbie Stone, the FY25 Cultural Arts Grants Manager.

All organizations interested in applying should carefully review the grant guidelines and instructions available in the Cary Grant Portal. The town provides a glossary of terms to assist applicants in understanding the application process. This grant opportunity serves as a vital resource for the cultural arts community in Cary, ensuring continued support for artistic and cultural programming that benefits local residents and visitors alike.
