Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE)
Description
ARISE, funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, is an initiative by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to foster large-scale, regional economic transformation in Appalachia. This initiative aims to strengthen business and industry while developing new opportunities through multi-state collaboration among the 13 Appalachian states. ARISE focuses on large-scale projects that can demonstrate significant economic impact across state lines, aligning with ARC’s strategic investment priorities. Projects should engage in activities like workforce development, business growth, infrastructure improvement, enhancing regional culture and tourism, and building community capacity.
