2025 Route 66 Revitalization Grant Program
This program provides funding to communities along Route 66 for projects that preserve historical sites, enhance visitor experiences, and promote economic growth.
Description
The Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant Program is designed to preserve the cultural heritage of Route 66 while fostering sustainable economic growth in the communities along this historic highway. Administered by the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission, this program funds projects that enhance the visitor experience, preserve historical landmarks, and promote economic development within Route 66 communities. Grants may be used for capital investments, historic preservation, planning, research, signage, and limited promotional purposes.
Applicants may apply for funding ranging from $25,000 to $2 million to support projects that prioritize historic preservation, community enhancement, audience attraction, and sales tax generation. Multiple grant cycles are available, allowing applicants to resubmit proposals or apply for funding for different project phases. Applications are evaluated based on project description, impact, organizational structure, and budget clarity, with equal weight given to each criterion.
The 2025 grant cycle includes two rounds: Round 3 opens December 13, 2024, and closes February 7, 2025, while Round 4 opens August 15, 2025, and closes September 30, 2025. Applications are reviewed by a nine-member commission, and selections are based solely on materials provided in the application package.
