This funding opportunity provides financial support to rural organizations and communities to enhance prevention, treatment, and recovery services for individuals affected by substance use and opioid use disorders.
Description
The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program - Overdose Response (RCORP-OR) aims to improve health care access in rural areas by addressing the immediate and short-term needs related to substance use disorder (SUD) services. The program focuses on reducing and preventing overdose risks through prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery initiatives. Eligible applicants must implement activities in designated HRSA rural areas, with efforts tailored to the specific needs of the communities they serve.
The program will fund up to 20 grants, with a maximum award of $300,000 per recipient, over a 12-month period from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. The total available funding for FY 2025 is $6,000,000, contingent on appropriations. Applicants must propose at least one allowable activity related to overdose response, with emphasis on sustainability, accessibility, and integration within existing rural health networks.
