Description
The Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau Fund is dedicated to bolstering Albany County's hospitality sector by financing programs that develop and maintain tourism destinations, attractions, events, and other related activities within the county. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are available to eligible organizations. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate the potential increase in overnight hotel stays their projects might generate.
Eligible applicants include U.S. nonprofit tax-exempt organizations under IRS Code 501(c)(3) or those operating under a qualifying nonprofit's fiscal sponsorship. Projects must be located within Albany County and aim to enhance tourism infrastructure, elevate Albany's image as a destination, boost attendance and tourism, or involve capital campaigns and expenditures. Collaborative efforts between nonprofits, community groups, and hospitality businesses are highly encouraged.
Applications are due by March 5, 2025. There is no pre-application requirement, allowing applicants to submit full proposals directly. Multi-year funding requests will be considered, with a maximum grant period of three years
