The 2025 GROW Grant program in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, offers funding to support small businesses and commercial property owners in making façade and interior improvements. The grant aims to revitalize commercial spaces and foster economic growth. Applicants can request up to $10,000, or up to $20,000 for larger projects under the Grow a Lot program, with the stipulation that the grant will cover no more than 50% of the total project cost. Eligible projects include accessibility improvements, storefront upgrades, decorative lighting, restoration of historic features, and energy-efficient renovations. Work must comply with local building and zoning codes.
Applications must be submitted by November 22, 2024. Following initial review, approved applications will proceed to the Design Review Board for further evaluation. The grant recipients will be announced on April 1, 2025, with project work needing to start within six months and be completed within a year, with possible extensions. Grant funds will be reimbursed after project completion and final inspection, with required proof of expenses.
Ineligible projects include home-based businesses, design fees for marketing, payroll expenses, and any work started before grant approval. The grant does not cover routine operating costs, branded signage, or non-structural items like office equipment. Applicants must submit all required documentation, including receipts for reimbursement, by June 5, 2026.
