This funding opportunity provides financial support to Oklahoma public entities, such as schools and municipalities, to develop projects that reduce food waste and improve food access for those in need.
Description
The Wasted Food Management Grant Application FY26 is a funding opportunity provided by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) aimed at reducing wasted food by diverting it from disposal to higher use. The program encourages projects that support food recovery infrastructure and address food insecurity in Oklahoma. Eligible applicants include units of government such as public school districts, universities, municipalities, counties, and tribes. The grants are awarded on a reimbursement basis, and applicants must enter into a formal agreement with DEQ before funds are available. The agreements expire on June 30, 2026, and final invoices are due by August 31, 2026. DEQ will reimburse 80% of equipment costs between $5,000 and $50,000.
