This grant provides funding for organizations to conduct research and create content that helps renters and property owners in Massachusetts adopt clean energy solutions for residential buildings with one to four units.

Description

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center (MassCEC) is inviting proposals for the Renter and Property Owner Content for the Clean Energy Lives Here initiative. This Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to engage applicants who can conduct market research and develop web-ready content to assist renters and property owners in Massachusetts in decarbonizing their buildings, specifically those with one to four residential units. The overarching goal is to enhance the adoption of energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy solutions among these groups.

The selected applicant will be responsible for researching the trends, priorities, motivations, and challenges faced by Massachusetts renters and property owners in their pursuit of clean energy solutions. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding the needs of environmental justice populations. Additionally, the applicant will create targeted content for the Clean Energy Lives Here campaign, collaborating closely with MassCEC’s internal team and marketing agency to ensure the integration of new materials into the existing website.

The primary objectives of this initiative include increasing the adoption of clean energy solutions by renters and property owners, conducting comprehensive market research, identifying state and federal incentives applicable to common scenarios, and providing practical suggestions to overcome barriers to decarbonization. The applicant will also be tasked with developing content that is accessible and informative for both renters and property owners of small residential buildings.

Eligible applicants for this grant may include individuals, sole proprietors, professional consultants, non-profits, advocacy agencies, and companies with multiple employees. Proposals can be submitted by a single lead applicant or an applicant team that collectively possesses the necessary expertise. MassCEC encourages applications from organizations that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion in their hiring practices and workplace environments.

To qualify, applicants should demonstrate experience in engaging with renters and property owners, particularly those from environmental justice communities. They should also possess strong project management skills, research capabilities, and the ability to create accessible content. Familiarity with the latest trends in energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies, as well as knowledge of available incentives and financing options, is essential.

The total funding available for this grant is $200,000, with no matching requirement. The deadline for proposal submission is October 10, 2024. Interested parties can find more information and submit their proposals through the MassCEC website. For any inquiries, applicants can contact MassCEC via email or phone.

This grant represents an opportunity for organizations and individuals committed to advancing clean energy solutions in Massachusetts, particularly in supporting renters and property owners in their transition to more sustainable practices.
