Texas Nonpoint Source Management Program (RFGA)
This program provides funding to organizations and local governments in Texas to develop and implement strategies that reduce pollution from diffuse sources, helping to protect and restore water quality in various watersheds.
Description
FY25 Texas Nonpoint Source Management Program, administered jointly by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, is designed to address and mitigate pollution caused by nonpoint sources in Texas. Nonpoint source pollution, unlike pollution from industrial and sewage treatment plants, comes from many diffuse sources. The program aims to protect and restore water quality across various watersheds by implementing effective management strategies and encouraging stakeholder participation. Key aspects include the development of Watershed Protection Plans and Total Maximum Daily Loads for pollutants. The program also utilizes a combination of regulatory, non-regulatory, financial, and technical assistance approaches to tackle nonpoint source pollution effectively.
The program's FY2025 solicitation, released on June 26, 2024, invites proposals by August 8, 2024. Projects funded will cover 60% of costs, requiring a 40% match from applicants.
