The program seeks to enhance the quantity and quality of police officer recruitment across the state while offering incentives for officer retention. The Illinois Law Enforcement and Training Board (ILETSB) will offer these grants as advance payments, reimbursements, and working capital advances to address the challenges faced by police agencies in developing successful recruitment and retention programs within their budgets.
