Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support to Colorado cities, nonprofits, and organizations to promote tourism and aid recovery efforts in areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Description
The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant was established to support the economic recovery of the travel and tourism industry in Colorado, particularly in response to the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant aims to attract visitors to Colorado cities and towns that were adversely affected by the pandemic through tourism marketing and promotional campaigns. Eligible applicants include cities, nonprofits, economic development organizations, and Indian tribes, with funding amounts reaching up to $500,000 per application. The application period runs from June to August, and only one application per Colorado destination is accepted.
Funding will be considered for entities within the travel and tourism industry that meet specific eligibility requirements. Applicants must demonstrate a clear need for funding and have at least 10% of the required grant amount in matching funds. Eligible projects include city, county, or regional tourism marketing campaigns that align with CDC guidelines. Ineligible expenses include items for resale, food, and alcoholic beverages. The selection process involves a committee review based on criteria such as the strength of the marketing campaign and demonstrated recovery need.
