City of Camden Accommodations Tax Grant
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Camden and Kershaw County for tourism-related projects and events that encourage overnight stays and boost local economic impact.
Description
The City of Camden in South Carolina is currently accepting applications for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Accommodations Tax (ATax) Grant Program. This grant program provides financial support to nonprofit organizations located in Camden and Kershaw County for projects and events that promote tourism and contribute to overnight accommodations or hotel stays in Camden. The funding is intended to boost local economic impact through tourism-related activities that attract visitors from outside the community.
Eligible projects must take place between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025. The City encourages applicants to review the official ATax Grant Guidelines prior to applying, as well as to comply with the city’s branding standards. All marketing materials funded by this grant are required to include the Experience Camden logo, and a guide for proper logo usage is available for applicants.
Applications are reviewed by the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee, which consists of members from the hospitality industry and the broader community. The committee evaluates submissions and provides funding recommendations to the Camden City Council based on projected ATax revenue and the quality and scope of grant requests. Final decisions are made by City Council following these recommendations.
Grantees from Fiscal Year 2024-2025 are expected to submit reimbursement reports by May 30, 2025, to allow time for processing. The final deadline for all FY24-25 reimbursement submissions is June 30, 2025, and no reimbursements will be issued after this deadline. Reporting forms and budget templates for both fiscal years are available in Word, PDF, and Excel formats.
For questions or assistance with the application or reporting forms, applicants should contact Rickie Good via email at rgood@camdensc.org.
