Description
The Summer Youth Program Fund (SYPF) supports nonprofit organizations in providing enriching and impactful summer programs for youth in Maricopa County, Arizona. Applications for the 2025 grant cycle are open from November 25, 2024, at 9:00 AM and close on January 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Grants range from $5,000 to $25,000, with a total of $500,000 available. Applicants may request no more than 50% of their total program budget and must ensure transportation costs account for no more than 10% of the grant request.
Programs must focus on personal youth development, arts and culture, physical activity, environment/nature, disability services, or academic/educational activities. Priority is given to programs that serve disadvantaged youth, including those with disabilities, and those located in areas with limited access to organized activities. Eligible programs must operate daily for at least four hours or as residential programs lasting more than one night. All programs must serve at least 80% Maricopa County residents and meet specific eligibility criteria, including being led by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good IRS standing.
Applications are evaluated through a competitive process by a grant review panel, which assesses alignment with program goals, community need, and the ability to achieve measurable outcomes. Collaborative efforts with other organizations are encouraged to expand service capacity and outreach. Grant decisions will be finalized by March 7, 2025, with award notifications sent by the end of March and funds distributed in mid-May 2025. Final reports on funded programs are due by September 30, 2025.
