Colorado Department of Education

This initiative provides funding and resources to low-performing schools in Colorado to improve student achievement through targeted support and collaboration with local education agencies.

Description

The Colorado School Transformation Network aims to accelerate student achievement in select schools through targeted support, resources, and flexibility. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving local schools, their Local Education Agency (LEA), and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Participating schools will receive enhanced diagnostic reviews, personalized professional learning opportunities, and additional resources through supplemental grant funding. The goal is to achieve lasting improvement in the lowest-performing schools by supporting both LEAs and schools together.

Eligible schools include those identified for improvement under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) as Comprehensive Support, Targeted Support, or Additional Targeted Support, as well as those with a state identification of Priority Improvement, Turnaround, or On Watch. The program offers funding up to $20,000 in Year 1, and up to $80,000 in Years 2 and 3, with a total support duration of 2.5 years. The application process includes a diagnostic review and collaboration with a School Transformation Specialist, with deadlines for applications and notifications outlined in the program details.
