The K.D. and M.L. Steadley Memorial Trust, established in 1959, supports scientific, educational, literary, and charitable purposes, including the encouragement of art and prevention of cruelty to animals. Charitable organizations in or near Carthage, Missouri, that promote community welfare are eligible. The Trust occasionally funds public parks, playgrounds, and outdoor recreation programs.

Grant requests for capital, project, and program support are accepted, while general operating support is discouraged unless on an exceptional basis. Most grants are one year in duration. The deadlines for applications are May 15 and November 15.
